To ensure that our agency staff are well-prepared and meet the necessary requirements for work and assignments, we have established a set of mandatory practical training courses. These courses need to be completed annually to remain compliant with our clients' standards:

Life Support: mandatory for qualified nurses and health care staff, immediate life support training (ILS) in the UK covers a wide range of techniques and skills designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and abilities to effectively respond in emergency situations. It includes critical components such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the usage of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and other life-saving equipment. The purpose of this training is to ensure that individuals are prepared to act promptly and appropriately during emergencies, thus increasing the chances of saving lives. All clinically trained staff (doctors, registered nurses and midwives), who deliver or are involved in rapid tranquilisation, physical restraint and seclusion are to be trained in ILS. You can complete either or both neonatal life support and adult life support courses.

Moving and Handling: ensuring safety in care moving and handling training focuses on techniques and practices that promote the safe movement, handling, and care of individuals in various settings. This training has particular importance within the healthcare sector due to the risk of injury resulting from improper manual handling techniques.

Registered agency staff must complete this practical training before being assigned to any shifts. To facilitate access to these training courses, we have partnered with trusted training providers who offer discounted rates for booking.

Practical Mandatory Certifications For Nurses And Support Workers In The UK

Physical training is mandatory if you wish to practice healthcare in the UK. If you wish to have a basic level of compliance with aligns with the UK Core Skills Training Framework, find out more about the requirements and how we can help you.

    For NMC Revalidation, 35 hours of continuing practical development (CPD) with 20 hours being participatory learning (face to face/classroom based) is required. We are here to help you.
